Love him or hate him, there’s no doubt Jarrod Woodgate gave The Bachelorette’s Sophie Monk his absolute all.
And while Sophie and Stu Laundy have got the happily ever after they’ve been looking for, the vineyard manager from Victoria has been left to pick up the pieces of his broken heart.
Chatting to TV WEEK, Jarrod says he still isn’t over Sophie and is absolutely devastated that he wasn’t the last man standing.
“Going into the finale, I had never felt so confident,” the 31-year-old says, adding, unlike Stu, he considered proposing at the end of the show.
“I’m madly in love with Sophie so popping the question was definitely on the cards.
“I’m gutted from the perspective of not being with Sophie. To know that I’ve come this far and we’ve achieved so much together is hard.”
When asked why he thinks Sophie chose Stu, Jarrod puts it down to the pair having different lifestyles.

“Soph and Stu have chemistry but I think the only thing Stu would be able to do that would be different is that fact that he can move around a lot easier than I can. I have the vineyard I have to work on so uplifting is harder for me.”
So, is Jarrod still in touch with Stu?
“I did chat to Stu probably a few weeks ago just to say g’day,” Jarrod reveals.
And as for getting back out on the dating scene, Jarrod admits it may take him some time to heal his broken heart.
“I still have a lot of feelings for Sophie so it’s going to take time – I don’t know how long. But I’m not going to lock myself away. I need to get back out there and start meeting people and having normal conversations where there are no cameras around.”
We couldn’t end our chat without asking about the infamous pot plant.
“Look, the pot plant is still alive and kicking,” Jarrod laughs.
“It’s still in the mansion. I have a certain roster of people going into the water it and it’s away from Blake and Ryan.”
