Pub baron Stuart Laundy had been touted as the frontrunner even before he landed on the show, and the boys of The Bachelorette Australia mansion agree there’s a good reason for it.
According to them, he’s a deadest catch and has the looks to match!
“I thought he was Pete Evans,” exclaims financial advisor Jimmy, 31.
While dashing magician Apollo, 24, paid the father-of-four a massive compliment, saying Stu reminded him of one of Hollywood’s biggest heartthrobs.
“The guy looks like an older Zac Efron, he’s really smooth and has a lot going for himself and he’s an absolute character. He’s a really genuine, nice guy,” he gushed.

Even voiceover artist Sam, who viewers have seen get a tad overprotective of Soph, is A-OK with the much talked-about intruder.
“Stu so quickly acclimated to the mansion and to us guys. He just became one of us. He genuinely cared and empathised with us and how it might feel to have intruders come in.”
Apparently, the 44-year-old went above and beyond to make the mansion’s original suitors know he didn’t want to ruffle any feathers.
“I remember he stood up over dinner and said a little speech… he was really lovely, he was really caring,” explains Sam.
He sure sounds like a catch to us!
Surprisingly, Sophie super-fan Jarrod’s also on the Stu bandwagon.
“He’s an absolute legend. I think we became mates a lot quicker than everyone else,” spills the 31-year-old vineyard manager.
Thankfully, the feeling was completely mutual – Stu was as into the guys as they were into him.
“They were a pretty good bunch,” he admits.
Still, he wishes that he wasn’t so late to the party.
“I would have preferred [to have gone in at the start], but I couldn’t juggle my work and family commitments at the early stage. I regretted it though and made sure to get in there as soon as I could.”
Why the rush?
“The other guys had a month head start and she could have been head over heels by then.”
Let’s hope for his sake Soph hasn’t made her mind up just yet!
