And while the ladies currently vying for Matty J’s heart are lapping up every moment of it, TV WEEK couldn’t help but ask them about their previous dating experiences.

Elizabeth, 31, NSW, Property Executive: “Worst date I have ever been on is with the guy who lectured me for twenty minutes about something he knew nothing about, and then asked if I was hungry. When I said no, he ordered himself a steak and chips and nothing for me, then at 9pm yawned and told me he had had a big day and said he had to go. I never heard from him again.”

Alix, 24, NSW, Body Painter: “Luckily I’ve managed to escape any possible disastrous dates.”

Elise, 29, WA, Marketing Executive: “I once went on a date with a guy who actually thought he had invited someone else.”

Cobie, 30, QLD, Coal-plant operator: “I appreciate all the dates I’ve been taken on. I haven’t had a bad experience.”

The Bachelor's Leah

Leah, 22, VIC, Architecture student: “I once went on a date with a mutual friend I had met a few times. He offered to take me somewhere fancy but I told him it wasn’t necessary. He then insisted. Once we were seated and got the menus he started whinging about the prices and making comments about how absurdly expensive it was. He then stated he wasn’t going to eat. I offered to change venues or just grab a burger and go for a walk. He then agreed. But when we got to the second venue he got so drunk that he passed out in the short time that I went to the bathroom, leaving me to pay the bill, usher him into a cab and drop him home (on the other side of the city).”

Lisa, 25, VIC, Model: “Never been on a bad date.”

Michelle, 31, SA, Police Officer: “The guy said we would pay for our ice-cream separately and when he had to pay for his, he couldn’t afford it and borrowed my money.”

Akoulina, 29, QLD, Gymnastics coach: “I have never been on a bad date. I don’t get myself into those situations.”

Belinda, 34, QLD, Love Coach: “I was on a first date at dinner and he didn’t like his meal so he thought I needed help eating mine. He then told me he had “forgotten” his wallet and couldn’t even go halves. I paid and he said he would give me his half but never did. I don’t expect a man to pay, only to be considerate of my needs as well. Plus I was really hungry.”

Elora, 27, NSW, Fitness Trainer: “I don’t have a worst date yet, as I don’t really do dates.”

Laura, 31, NSW, Accessories Designer: “I’m a single girl in Sydney, not sure it’s even possible to narrow that down.”

Jennifer, 27, NSW, Marketing Manager: “I’ve honestly tried to forget it!”

Natalie, 26, SA, Midwife: “I went to dinner with this guy who was wearing ‘essential oils’ and the smell was just really overwhelming and gross. Dude, you’re a man not a candle!”

Tara, 27, QLD, Nanny: “I don’t know – I’m pretty easy to please.”

Sharlene, 25, VIC, Wedding planner: “Oh lordy, this one was bad. I always offer to pay my share of the bill, and at the end of one date when I offered to pay and got out $30 for a $50 bill, he said to me, ‘Oh, I think you’re like 50 cents short’. He also backed into a Mercedes whilst trying to reverse park when we arrived at dinner and didn’t even leave a note. I was mortified.”

Simone Ormesher The Bachelor

Simone, 25, VIC, Office administrator: “I haven’t been on one.”

Sian, 24, WA, Retail Assistant: “I don’t really go on dates, so not sure.”
