Matty J and Laura Byrne gave us the ending we were all hoping for during The Bachelor Australia finale.
Loved up and blinged out, the couple have been handling their publicity rounds like pros! But it seems reality is beginning to set in for these lovebirds. Their first hurdle? Housing!
Laura made it really clear to Matty while on The Bachelor that she takes her time in building relationships and “breaking down walls” but it seem she won’t be sharing four walls with Matty anytime soon.
“I’ve just signed another year lease on my place, so I’ll be there for awhile,” she confirms to OK!.
With Matty making it crystal clear he was looking to settle down and start a family pretty quickly, this potentially throws a pretty big spanner in the works.
Though the jewellery designer admits that she and Matty have discussed children, she doesn’t feel any pressure to make it happen as soon as possible.
“I don’t want to settle just because I feel like my biological clock is ticking,” shares Laura.
“I really want to be in an awesome relationship, and have that be the basis of having a family.”
Luckily, the two aren’t living too far from each other anyway, so moving in isn’t as damaging as a long distance relationship could be.
“Because we live in the same suburb we don’t have to rush it,” Laura says. “We’re just looking forward to spending time together.”
Despite her reluctance to pack up and move her life (including her adorable rescue pooch, Buster) for Matty, the two have definitely discussed bigger milestones, including kids and marriage. “We both want to get married one day, we both want kids one day, we both want to live in the Eastern suburbs,” she gushes.
