Tessa’s life changed forever when she was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma in September last year and now the former Home and Away actress is speaking with Channel Seven’s Sunday Night to share how she survived the most heart-wrenching of circumstances.
“No one should have to go through that,” the 24-year-old revealed in a teaser for the upcoming chat.
Through heart-breaking tears, the actress is open and honest about how she fought for her life.
And in a very stirring moment, Tessa’s beloved dad told the cameras about his little girl’s battle, “she was going to have to climb a mountain, she was going to have to really fight hard.”
While her football player husband Nate Myles, who she married in 2011, has been the star’s rock.
“At no point I ever thought I was going to lose her,” the 30-year-old Gold Coast Titans player explained of his positive outlook.
The trailer also shows the Melbourne local receiving loving messages of support from her former Home and Away co-stars, including Tammin Sursok and Chris Hemsworth.
The teaser highlights Tessa’s main source of strength, the love of her life, Nate Myles – a man who took the “in sickness and in health” part of his wedding vows seriously.
In May, proud husband Nate shared with the Sunday Telegraph that his wife is “tougher than any footballer I have played alongside.”
“There’s a euphoric feeling when you walk off a field sore but for Tess when she was doing her treatment, she didn’t know for a lot of the time if it was a win, if it was helping, I was more traumatised than her,” he explained to the publication.
