If you haven’t already binged the first season of Stranger Things all over again before the second season drops on Netflix tomorrow (!!), here’s a refresher on everything that happened.
Oh and if you’re not sure exactly how the next season is going to pan out, read our guide on what you can expect here.
Season one starts off with four boys biking home, when Will (Noah Schnapp) is separated and goes missing. A strange young girl, Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown), shows up and is soon enlisted in the search because she seems to know what happened to him.
Will’s mum, Joyce Byers (Winona Ryder), thinks she hears Will breathing on the phone, then her lights go nuts. Meanwhile, lonely Barb is pulled into a pool by the monster across town.
Joyce is convinced Will is talking to her through the lights. She struggles to convince the other grown-ups to take her theory seriously, although it seems Sheriff Hopper (David Harbour) might be persuaded.
Eleven makes contact with Will using the boys’ walkie-talkies and hears him singing The Clash’s ’80’s hit “Should I Stay Or Should I Go”. She flees when Dr Brenner (Matthew Modine) shows up.
Joyce and Sheriff Hopper get inside the portal to find Will is not breathing and do CPR to bring him back to life.
The monster is now closing in on the boys. Kick-arse Eleven sacrifices herself, using the last of her super powers to blow up the monster.
A month later, Sheriff Hopper sneaks out to the forest to deliver waffles in case Eleven is alive. Meanwhile, Will goes to the bathroom and suddenly coughs up some kind of slug, triggering memories of the monster.
