But
for carpenter Sticks, it
also meant having to leave his beloved family on the
NSW South Coast.

Sticks told TV WEEK he applied to be on this season of The Block with his best mate Wombat only four days before applications closed.

Despite wife Terri being due to give birth to their second child during filming, Sticks was thrilled to land the opportunity to take part.

“Terri was fine about it,” Sticks explains.

“She sees the bigger picture, and we have
a very tight family. So there’s lots of support at home.”

Sticks and nurse Terri already have a 15-month-old son, Canoa.

And the ever-supportive Terri offered
her husband some loving advice before he headed
to Melbourne for filming.

“She wants me to make the most of it, work hard
for 12 weeks and see where it gets us,” he says.
