Local streaming service Stan has today announced that their latest original Australian offering The Other Guy will premiere on August 17.
All six episodes of the series, created by and starring Australian comedian Matt Okine, will drop all on the same day.
The Other Guy follows the story of AJ, played by Okine, a radio host who discovers that his girlfriend of ten years has been cheating on him with his best friend. Cue the quarter life crisis…
The life-changing revelation forces AJ into the world of dating for the first time in a decade.
His experiences are hilarious, heart-breaking and, at times, all too relatable.
The Other Guy is a comedy with heart. If you love Younger, or you’re a fan of Girls, Search Party or Please Like Me – this series is for you.
Okine is joined by Irish Actress Valene Kane (Rouge One: A Star Wars Story), Harriet Dyer (Love Child, No Activity), Marg Downey (Kath & Kim) and Christiaan van Vuuren (Soul Mates).
The series was written by Okine and Becky Lucas, who was also a part of the writing team for Please Like Me. The script was produced by Greg Waters.
Matt Okine has been kicking around the Australian comedy scene for many years now.
He is also well known for co-hosting the Triple J breakfast show with Alex Dyson from 2014 to 2016.
Okine and Dyson both farewelled the radio station late last year in order to pursue other projects.
