She is currently starring in this year’s Bachelorette but, Sophie Monk first burst onto our screens in 2000 when she appeared on the reality singing competition Popstars.
Sophie went on to have success with the band Bardot, which was formed during the TV series. The band’s first single ‘Poison’ was hugely popular and debuted at number one on the Australia and New Zealand music charts.
And now it seems that the bubbly blonde is heading back into the studio!
Sophie’s management shared a black and white photo on Instagram just yesterday of the reality star in the studio, presumably recording new music.
The caption read: “Working on those secret projects. Sophie in the studio… Watch this space!”
Sophie recently revealed to the hosts of Network Ten show The Loop that Kasey Chambers has actually written quite a few songs for her.
“She’s written beautiful songs for me,” Sophie revealed.
“I just love her, it’s out of friendship, it’s not me trying to be ‘I’m back!’” she said.
But this isn’t a new goal of Sophie’s, as she revealed her desire to release new music back in February during a chat with KIIS FM’s Kyle & Jackie O.
‘Will you bring out new stuff soon?’ radio host Jackie O asked Sophie at the time.
“Yeah, I’d love to, just when I’ve got time,” Sophie replied. She also revealed that her new songs would be “a little bit” country and “not pop”.
Sophie’s career has been enjoying a resurgence thanks to her turn on The Bachelorette Australia.
Thankfully the 37-year-old has found love on the reality series, which is currently playing out on our screens.
The singer turned actor is currently vacationing in Thailand with her best friend Oscar Gordon in an attempt to prevent revealing anything about who wins the series.
And tonight, there is set to be even more drama on the series when four gentlemen arrive as intruders.
Amongst the intruders is millionaire mogul Stu Laundy, whose appearance on the series has been widely reported, with many believing that he is the lucky man to win Sophie’s heart in the end.
Perhaps Sophie’s new music will be love songs? We can’t wait to hear it!
