The highly-anticipated SeaChange revival is well and truly underway, with the series commencing production on Monday.
Sigrid Thornton and John Howard will lead an all-star cast, as they reprise their roles as Laura Gibson and Bob Jelly. Kerry Armstrong (Heather Jelly) and Kevin Harrington (Kev Findlay) are also set to return to Pearl Bay.
The revival will pick up after the breakup of Laura’s marriage. Facing divorce and unemployment, she returns to Pearl Bay after 20 years.
Alongside the returning cast members are Brooke Satchwell (Wonderland, Packed to the Rafters), Dan Wyllie (Romper Stomper, No Activity, Gallipoli, Tangle), Darren McMullen (House Husbands, The Voice Australia), Katrina Milosevic (Wentworth, Winners & Losers, Offspring), Ella Newton (Playing for Keeps, Neighbours, Newton’s Law), Kate Lister (Bad Mothers, Neighbours) and Alex Tarrant (800 Words, Shortland Street).
Sigrid says she is “absolutely thrilled ” to return to her beloved role.
“Time has passed and the world has changed, so as we revisit this rich and strange place I trust we’ll all delight in the chance to explore how far we’ve come and how far we still have to go,” she says. “I can hardly wait.”
On picking up all these year’s later, Sigrid says fans will love the next instalment.
“We left people wanting more at the end of the third series [in 2000],” she says.
“I think that’s a good thing, as it has set us up for so many possibilities and opportunities for the next series.”
SeaChange will air on the Nine Network.
