It’s been years since Sandra Oh starred in Grey’s Anatomy as Dr Christina Yang and we’re thrilled to have her back on our screens.

While she has made recent appearances in American Crime and Catfight, we’re excited to see Sandra back in a regular role.

Sandra will play the title character in BBC America’s eight-episode serial killer spy drama Killing Eve, from Fleabag creator Phoebe Waller-Bridge. Phoebe will act as showrunner on the series and as executive producer along with Sally Woodward Gentle and Lee Morris.

The show is based on the Vinanelle novels by Luke Jennings. Eve (Sandra) is a highly intelligent security service operative who’s bored by her current desk job. She dreams of being a spy and she gets her wish when she is charged with hunting down the elegant international assassin Vinanelle (yet to be cast).

“I am quivering with excitement about working with Sandra!” Phoebe says. “I have been a huge fan of hers forever and am pinching myself that she is playing our Eve. She is going to be so badass in this role.”

“Sandra Oh has the ability to go from wrenching to funny to total mess with a genius lightness of touch,” BBC America president Sarah Barnett said in a statement. “Phoebe’s vision is absolutely original, and Sandra is utterly perfect casting, we think, for this key role.”

Sandra earned five Emmy nominations and a Golden Globe for her work in Grey’s Anatomy.
