Sam Mac has been announced as one of seven nominees for the Gold Logie Award at the 2019 TV WEEK Logie Awards.
Sam is nominated alongside Amanda Keller, Costa Georgiadis, Eve Morey, Rodger Corser, Tom Gleeson and Waleed Aly.
Sam, who’s been a weather presenter on Sunrise since 2016, campaigned fiercely for his Logie nomination with his ‘Mac The Logies Great Again’ campaign.
It all began with a video titled “Validate me pls” in which the hilarious weatherman stated his case with a small paper sign.
Soon, the Sunrise team helped him launch a full-blown campaign.
Sam had the help of his co-stars David “Kochie” Koch, Samantha Armytage, Natalie Barr and Mark Beretta, who made signs, hats and even enlisted singer Nikki Webster to perform a custom jingle.
“People love a loser,” Natalie joked of their campaign commercial for Sam, which showed him being rejected for a date and replaced his face with Grant Denyer’s.

And, finally, he finished his glorious campaign with this very good slideshow, set to the soundtrack of Beyonce’s Halo. Naturally.
