Sam Frost is determined to nail her debut drama appearance on Home And Away.
The gorgeous blonde has now appeared on three reality TV series – The Bachelor Australia, The Bachelorette Australia and Hell’s Kitchen.
But she admits she had never given acting a second thought until the offer to audition for the hit drama came her way.
And the pressure to live up to the expectations she’s set herself is intense.
“I’ve been putting in months of hard work,” the star explains, adding a word or two for her detractors.
“It’s like any industry or career – some people have different ways of getting there. I don’t know why people are so quick to judge a person’s path to get where they are.”
With plenty of advice from her Hell’s Kitchen castmate and Home And Away alumnus Lincoln Lewis, Sam says she plans to use her on-screen experience to her advantage.
“I’ve been working on TV sets for four years,” she explains. “In every one of those situations, I’ve had to be vulnerable, open and pretend there aren’t 100 crew members around.
“That’s a skill I’ve learnt – I definitely think it’ll help with Home And Away.”
Also helping will be her support at home. Sam recently revealed she’s dating navy diver Dave Bashford. She’s over the moon at how well the romance is going.
“I haven’t been this happy in such a long time,” she enthuses. “I’ve been friends with Dave for years, so it feels really comfortable.”
Sam first realised she had feelings for Dave while she was filming Hell’s Kitchen in February this year.
At first, she hoped he would make the first move, but eventually decided to take the bull by the horns and ask him out on a date in April. And the rest, as they say, is history.
