The Bachelor Australia’s Matthew “Matty J” Johnson is down to his top six but it hasn’t been an easy road.
While all the girls are falling head over heels for the hunky bachelor, sources say that Matty J is more undecided than ever in the final stages of the competition and he’s afraid he’ll end up choosing the wrong girl.
What’s more, it looks like he’s turned to the producers for a helping hand.
Matty struggled to pick a winner.
“He was struggling to make decisions at the rose ceremonies,” an insider tells NW.
“Especially having gone through The Bachelorette Australia, he couldn’t bring himself to hurt the girls’ feelings, so he asked to be steered in the right direction.”
Earlier in the season, Matty, 30, told NW about his concerns, revealing that rose ceremonies were “the worst” for him.
“There’s no way to sugar coat them, because there’s nothing good about them at all,” he says. “Seeing the disappointment [on the girls’ faces], I just had to hope that the women could understand my decisions.”
What will the girls think?
Now it turns out that those decisions might not have been his alone given that he let producers assist with eliminations, keeping certain contestants around for ratings while giving under-performers the boot.
“His emotions were all over the place,” says the insider.
“He put his heart in the hands of producers, so hopefully they found him a keeper.”
