When Neighbours executive producer, Jason Herbison, called Olympia Valance and asked her to make a guest appearance for the show’s epic 35th anniversary storyline there was one major detail that got the actress to sign on the dotted line: co-star, Scott McGregor.
More specifically, if her former on-screen flame, Mark, would also be returning in a juicy plot twist she says she’d always hoped for.
“When Jason came to me and said ‘We’d really like you back for the 35th year, I asked: ‘What’s your storyline?'” Olympia, 27, tells TV WEEK.

As it turns out, Jason knew exactly what Olympia wanted to hear (revolving around some HUGE spoilers we won’t yet reveal) and the Melbourne based actress immediately said ‘Yes’.
Co-star and friend, Scott, had a similar reaction when asked to return to Ramsay Street.
“Scott was the same. He called me up and asked if I was coming back for the 35th,” Olympia laughs, “I said ‘Yeah, are you coming back?’ We were both just trying to 100 percent confirm with each other.”

After three years away from set Olympia admits she was anxious to return.
“I was really nervous about coming back,” she says before adding, “But I walked back in and was like ‘Pfft, please – she’s back!’
“It’s been so good to see everyone, especially Scotty because he’s one of my best friends.”
