Oscar-winning actress Nicole Kidman is at the top of her craft. Performances in acclaimed film Lion, for which she received an Oscar nod, miniseries Big Little Lies and film The Beguiled show why, at 50, she’s in the prime of her career.
The milestone birthday was one Nicole was happy to embrace.
“I feel glad to be able to say I’m 50. It’s not something I try to hide,” she tells TV WEEK.
While she’s thrilled with the recent roles and opportunities that have come her way, outside of acting, Nicole reveals that her true passion in life has always been her family.
“My big passion is just my family; my love,” Nicole says.
“My daughter said to me, “You and Daddy kiss all the time.” I thought, “That’s such a fantastic thing for your daughter to say to you.” And that’s my passion.
“I know it’s a simple answer, but I’m deeply passionate about raising my children and being with my husband.”
Nicole and her husband Keith Urban recently celebrated 11 years of marriage.
“To have an 11-year anniversary and still be so much in love as a man and a woman, that is my solace,” Nicole admits. “That’s where I get so much of my comfort and my nourishment and energy from.”
Nicole is very aware of how lucky she is and doesn’t take her happiness for granted.
“I’ve not had it [in the past], so I know what it’s like not to have it,” she says.
“The children really acknowledge it too. They want that marriage, because they also reap the rewards of it.”
