Our favourite yellow cartoon family has been on our screens on Network Ten for over 25 years, but The Simpsons will no longer be shown on the channel due to a breakdown in negotiations with 21st Century Fox.

A number of Fox shows were pulled from the network immediately following the collapse in talks, including re-runs of MASH and Malcom In The Middle, as well as the new series This Is Us.

The second season of This Is Us, starring Mandy Moore and Milo Ventimiglia, is currently airing over in the US but it looks like we won’t be seeing it anytime soon.

The first series proved to be massively popular and actor Sterling K. Brown won an Emmy for his role just last month.

The latest season of Modern Family has also been pulled by Fox, which is a huge blow for the network (and for die-hard fans).

Fox is reportedly unhappy with the financial remuneration that Ten was offering to pay for its stable of shows, but no official statement has been released by the American network as of yet.

A spokesman for Network Ten confirmed that Fox had “verbally terminated” their longstanding deal.

“There’s no Fox shows on Ten at this stage,” the spokesman said.

The Simpsons has been a constant on Network Ten for over 25 years.

It hasn’t been an easy year for the network.

In June, Ten revealed that they were going into voluntary administration.

In August, American media company CBS announced that it was set to purchase the Australian network but the deal with CBS hasn’t been finalised yet.

So while we’re all in mourning over not seeing these TV families anymore, there might still be a chance they’re picked up by other networks.

A spokeswoman for the Nine Network confirmed that they were interested in bidding for a few of the Fox shows.

“We would not be doing an overall deal with Fox. We might want to buy one of their shows but our focus is very much on local content,” the Nine spokeswoman said.
