The internet is having a meltdown this week, thanks to a hidden Netflix feature and a VERY important tweet from Brooklyn Nine-Nine star (and majestic unicorn) Chelsea Peretti.

Our story begins with a disgruntled Netflix user, and ends with a glorious viral tweet that changed the course of our binge-watching history.

A Netflix user in the Philippines tweeted he was disappointed that Chelsea’s Netflix stand-up special – the aptly titled One Of The Greats – isn’t available to watch on the streaming service in his country.

Netflix responded to his complaint, writing ‘you know the drill’ next to a link to a title request page.

As it turns out, Netflix has a seemingly unheard of title request page, that allows users to suggest up to three titles to be added to the platform.

Chelsea quickly took to Twitter to sum up how we’re all feeling about the news.

“LITERALLY NO ONE KNOWS THAT DRILL,” she posted in a response that has since gone viral.

While the request page was never, in fact, hidden, it came as a surprise to many that such a feature exists.

“Have a TV show or movie you’d like to see on Netflix? Tell us about it,” the page reads. “This form is the one and only place to submit content requests.”

The page claims that Netflix “keeps track” of every request and urges users not to submit requests more than once. They also explain that not every request is achievable.

“While we love hearing your suggestions, sometimes we just aren’t able to license a particular movie or TV show,” they say.

Some reasons they provide for not being able to share certain content in different countries include “The content rights are currently exclusive to another company – Example: Game of Thrones is an HBO Original Series,” or “The streaming rights are not available to purchase from the content provider.”

Terms and conditions aside, we know how we’ll be spending the afternoon…
