A new low
Just when we thought that Sonya hit her rock bottom last week, she fell even further this week.
After having her relapse publicly outed, Sonya spiralled further downward by attending Leo’s illegal poker game. Sonya bought into the game for $1000 and after an initial win, she was feeling pretty confident.
But her luck soon changed and another player, Phillip, soon took the lead and Sonya lost all of her money. When Phillip offered to loan Sonya some more, Leo promptly shut down the game, resulting in the loss of his ten percent dealer’s cut. Ouch!

After her failed attempt to win some money, Sonya had a startlingly revelation: a series of flashbacks reminded her that she was the one who drove Amy’s Ute through Leo’s backpackers!
Despite Steph and Mark’s best efforts to protect Sonya, she decided to head straight to the station to confess her wrongdoing.
The next day, with Toadie as her lawyer, Sonya was officially charged for the accident.
Family secrets
Meanwhile, Toadie suspected that an affair was taking place on Ramsay Street this week. After overhearing Mishti and Shane talking in the kitchen, Toadie assumed that his brother and Mishti were having an affair behind Dipi’s back!
Toadie decided to confront his brother over what he heard, but Shane denied that anything was going on between the pair.
Shane later sat his wife down to confess his secret which involved Misthi. It turned out that Shane ran into financial trouble back in Bourke as he had poured all of their money into an invention, so Mishti offered Shane her compensation payout in order to bail him and her family out.
Dipi was understandably annoyed and made Shane promise that he would pay every cent back to Mishti by making his mower invention work. No pressure!
Toadie was sure that Shane was cheating on wife Dipi with his sister-in-law Mishti!
Wedding bells
This week the Canning family had reason to celebrate with the announcement of Gary and Terese’s engagement!
The reunion between the couple was fairly out of the blue and left the family shocked, especially Brooke. As Brooke’s feelings for Gary continued to grow, Gary was still focused on Terese.
In a bizarre plan, Brooke decided to encourage Gary to win Terese back with a grand gesture so Gary decided to propose but Brooke wasn’t worried, thinking that Terese would say no.
Unfortunately, her plan didn’t work and Brooke was devastated when Gary and Terese turned up to Xanthe’s birthday party happy and engaged!
