Nazeem Hussain leads Channel Seven’s new sketch comedy series, Orange Is The New Brown.
The comedian will be joined by the hilarious team of Urzila Carlson (Have You Been Paying Attention?), Matt Okine (The Other Guy), stand-up comedian Becky Lucas and Broden Kelly (one half of the comedy group Aunty Donna).
Orange Is The New Brown promises to poke fun at real life and modern Australia, with sketches taking on politics and pop-culture with a twist.
The comedy sketch show will feature big-name stars, with famous Aussies such as Kat Stewart, Claudia Karvan, Tim Minchin, Gary Sweet, Firass Dirani and Sigrid Thornton making regular appearances.
“This was a really fun show to make” says Nazeem.
“I got to see things I thought I’d never see. Kat Stewart dating a 95-year-old man, Tim Minchin arguing with Kamahl and Sigrid Thornton getting frisky with a skeleton.”
The comedian jokes he’s using the series as a way to get to Summer Bay.
“But to be honest I’m just using this show as a stepping stone to Home and Away. Any role will do. I’d even settle for the Uber Eats driver at the diner.”
The new sketch comedy show is the latest in a series of successes for Nazeem, who was recently confirmed as one of the stars of Netflix’s upcoming international stand-up special.
Joining Take Me Out host Joel Creasey, Nazeem was one of just two Australian comedians selected for the 2019 Netflix stand-up comedy event series.
Looks like everything’s coming up Nazeem!
Orange Is The New Brown is a Screentime Production and will premiere soon on Channel Seven. Stay tuned for an air date.
