Exciting news for fans of Nine’s drama series Doctor Doctor: Two major Australian stars will be joining the cast for the upcoming third season!
Miranda Tapsell (Love Child) and Vince Colosimo (Underbelly) have signed on for Season 3, confirms the network. The actors are yet to comment on reports they’ve signed on to the hit series, though we’ve learned a small bit about their upcoming roles.
Two-time TV WEEK Logie Awards winner Miranda will play an old school friend of the Knight brothers, while Vince will play a long-lost relative of the family.
Miranda is currently working on the feature film Top End Wedding in the Northern Territory, while Vince stars in the upcoming instalment of the Underbelly franchise, Underbelly Files: Chopper.
The third season of Doctor Doctor will pick up as Dr. Hugh Knight (Rodger Corser) comes to the end of his probation, meaning he’s free to return home to the city. He’ll be forced to choose between his home town and his old life when tragedy hits the Knight family.
Rodger (Dr. Hugh Knight), Nicole da Silva (Charlie), Steve Bisley (Jim), Ryan Johnson (Matt), Tina Bursill (Meryl), Hayley McElhinney (Penny), Matt Castley (Ajax), Chloe Bayliss (Hayley), Charles Wu (Ken), Belinda Bromilow (Betty) and Brittany Clark (Mia) will all reprise their roles.
The series has already commenced production in Sydney, and will air later this year.
Rodger shared an Instagram photo from the set just one week ago, posing with his co-stars Ryan and Tina.
“Here we go again…Turning over on Day 1 of #9doctordoctor #season3 Lets do this!!!” he wrote in the caption.
We can’t wait to see how Miranda and Vince fall in with the cast in Doctor Doctor, Season 3.
