Most of us were sitting on the edge of our seat waiting for Duchess Catherine to step out of the Lindo Wing with her newborn baby boy.
So when we saw her dressed in that beautiful Princess Diana inspired red frock, joined by Prince William and their darling son, the new Prince, just seven hours after she gave birth, we were all mighty impressed.
Except one.
Meshel Laurie expressed her view on the quick turn-around time during her stint on Tuesday night’s episode of The Project.
“You know what I find troubling is all those young women saying, ‘Oh, it’s inspiring’. That’s not inspiring!” she remarked.
“You know what would be inspiring? If when they came into her room and said ‘Alright mate, up you get, hair and make up, let’s get out there’ she said ‘Don’t be an idiot, get out! I’ve just had a baby!'”
While the audience applauded, Carrie Bickmore quickly stepped in saying, “Maybe she doesn’t have that option!”
Still not convinced, Meshel remarked, “She DOES have that option! Mate, what are they going to say?”
Adding, “She needs to hold on to the sides of the bed and say ‘GET OUT!'”
Many across the world were very impressed by Catherine’s ability to step out so quickly.
Mum-of-two Carrie shared sympathy for the Duchess.
“The expectation on that poor girl. It must suck! Seven hours after you have a baby, I was a hot mess I would not have had the confidence to put a dress on.”
Adding, “She does it so, so effortlessly. And I hope she gets to go home and put on some PJs and be a mum and worry about all the royal stuff later.”
