Former Spice Girl and X Factor judge Mel “B” Brown will replace Sonia Kruger on Dancing with the Stars.
Signing up to co-host alongside Daniel MacPherson, Mel will do all of the green room and backstage interviews throughout the show.
Being a former contestant of the US version of the show in 2007 Mel B said the experience changed her and although she made it to the grand final and didn’t win, she “loved every minute of it”.
“Doing Dancing with the Stars in America changed me,” Mel said.
“I’ve danced all my life, and, of course, with the Spice Girls, but there was something so intoxicating about learning to dance in such a classic, trained way. It was intense, but I loved every moment. I’m still annoyed I didn’t win!
“As any contestant on DWTS will tell you, it does change your life. I will be bringing my experiences to the show, and will be very protective of this year’s group.”
Mel, 36, along with her husband Stephen Belafonte and her daughters, four-year-old Angel and six-month-old Madison, have well and truly settled in to Aussie life, and are rumored to be making Australia their permanent home after she sold her $3.23 million California home.
Mel, who recently lost eight kilos through Jenny Craig, will also continue her role on as a judge on The X Factor which will launch later this year.
Announcements on the 2012 Dancing with the Stars contestant line-up will be made over the coming weeks.
