A McLeod’s Daughters reboot may be officially dead for now but that doesn’t mean our love for the characters of Drovers Run will ever die.
The cast of the hit Aussie drama seem to know it too, with the original four actors – Bridie Carter (Tess), Lisa Chappell (Claire), Aaron Jeffery (Alex) and Myles Pollard (Nick), plus Zoe Naylor (Regan) – reuniting for a fan event.
The core four have been travelling around Bilpin, NSW, for special fan appearances, with some tickets still available for December 17th and 18th (you can get tickets here).
Seeing Alex and Claire together (thinking about Claire’s death still hurts) and Tess and Nick (the show’s best couple) fills us with so much joy! (You can take a look at the pics below.)
We’ve previously seen different stars of the show – Michala Banas (who played Kate), Simmone Jade Mackinnon (Stevie) and Rachel Carpani (Jodi) – reunite in October, travelling all around South Australia (with their akubras, of course) to meet die-hard fans of the show.
Two months ago, the show’s creator, Posie Graeme Evans, shared the devastating news that a McLeod’s revival would no longer be happening.
“We feel that our potential new partners and ourselves turned out to see McLeod’s very differently; and, we were concerned that the tone and substance of the sequel story might alter too much from what people love about the series – and what they expect, too. This was not something we felt we could agree to. And, also, we didn’t want to let you down.
“So, as of last week, we have respectfully declined to move forward with further negotiations,” she said.
Michala Banas, however, it still holding out hope.
“It’s not happening right now, but you never know,” she recently told TV WEEK.
“I’ve always wondered what it would be like to get back on the horse – literally. It’s awesome that people love the show to the point that they want it back.”
We’ll keep our fingers crossed but in the meantime, at least we have these reunion pics to keep us happy for now. Take a look below.
