If you’re a fan of Marvel, you might want to free up the next decade or two. Yep, there are 20 more Marvel Cinematic Universe films in the pipeline and once The Avengers 4 is released in 2019, there would have been 22 released SO FAR.

Have you seen them all? (We’ll forgive you if you haven’t.)

Speaking to Vanity Fair, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige outlined his ultimate plan for the seemingly never-ending franchise.

“[Marvel is] 22 movies in, and [they have] got another 20 movies on the docket that are completely different from anything that’s come before – intentionally,” he told the publication.

Kevin also teased that it might be the end of an era for superheroes like Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr) and Captain America (Chris Evans). Along with Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk, Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), and Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner), their last film in their contracts with Marvel is the fourth Avengers installment.

“There will be two distinct periods,” Kevin continued. “Everything before Avengers 4 and everything after. I know it will not be in ways people are expecting… [it will] bring things you’ve never seen in superhero films: a finale.

“We’re looking for worlds that are completely separate — geographically or in time — from the worlds that we’ve already visited,” he added.

Now that we’ve seen the introduction of Black Panther, Ant Man, Doctor Strange and (yet another) Spider-Man, the next 20 films will likely focus on these characters. Plus, we’ve also got Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel in the near future.

Realistically, 20 won’t even scratch the surface of Marvel movies in the future. The company owns the rights to 7000+ characters so there’s a high chance we’ll be watching superheroes battle bad guys until we die.

The third Avengers flick (called Avengers: Infinity War) will be dropping its first official trailer tomorrow and will hit cinemas in May 2018.
