We’re only two weeks in to the latest season of Married At First Sight and the show has already been rocked with a runaway bride, the nation’s pickiest man and a cheating scandal.
When Now To Love caught up with season two alumni Jono Pitman, he told us the new formula of the show – whereby the newlywed couples live in the same apartment block as one another – had resulted in some wandering eyes.

“They’re putting ten couples in a house together, knowing they’re not going to match, I think it’s enticing them to cheat, which I believe has actually happened,” Jono told us.
“It’s a totally different show. They’ve re-written the script. Season four is totally different to what we had to go through. The best way to describe the new season, it’s a mixture of Geordie Shore and Big Brother.”
“Ten mis-matched couples in an apartment block. It’s an eight-week process, where couples are going to maybe find somebody else attractive and you get pushed by the producers,” he added.
And now, Sydney Confidential has unveiled the couple who struggled the most with the unconventional living arrangements.
According to the publication, hairdresser Cheryl Maitland catches her husband Jonathan Troughton giving his phone number to aspiring writer Scarlett, who has been matched with “Australia’s pickiest man”, 30-year-old stripper Michael.
“Cheryl goes crazy. She is not one to take things lying down,” a source explained of the complicated love web.
The fall-out doesn’t end there with Cheryl reportedly cheating with firefighter Andrew, who was ditched by his bride Lauren on the night of their wedding, to get even with Jonathan.
A Channel Nine spokesperson confirmed “there is a cheating scandal” and it will be aired on Sunday night’s episode.
