Disappearing on her wedding night to Andrew wasn’t exactly the big day that Sydneysider Lauren had in mind.

But in hindsight, the mum to 11-year-old son Dylan says she has no regrets about the controversial exit that left Married at First Sight viewers gobsmacked.
Having moved on from the experiment, a happier Lauren, 33, shares with OK! the details of her time on the show and confirms that she’s now loved-up with new squeeze Jake.
How do you feel about your MAFS experience?
In a nutshell [it was] disappointing; however, in the first instance I was excited and extremely open to the experiment.
Were you not happy with how you appeared?
The producers can film up to 12 hours a day – which is exhausting – and they have the choice of choosing snippets of a minute, two minutes or 30 seconds from a whole 12 hours of the camera rolling.
For example, endless scenes of me having a drink in my hand, asking for a top-up and being portrayed as an inebriated extrovert who happens to be the “single mum” looking for love.
Do you think you were matched with the right guy?
After sitting with the experts expressing my criteria in what I looked for in a partner and moral fundamentals of a courtship, I was extremely disappointed in their chosen companion after initial discussions.
Have you moved on?
I’m a firm believer that everything happens for a reason. I’m glad things turned out the way they did as I wouldn’t be happily in love with my new partner Jake, who is a single dad of two adorable twins.
Jake is also a successful property developer from the Sutherland Shire, and I now work alongside him within a business that has just launched a new $50 million development site.
Were you surprised Andrew moved on with Cheryl?
Cheryl texted me to tell me the news and I was totally supportive. I understand, given how similar all three of our personalities were, that this potentially would work for them.
Cheryl is a great mate and I wish her all the best.
