And on Sunday night, The Voice‘s cover was reportedly blown after their special guest Katy Perry was seen at Sydney airport bound for an international flight.
According to the Daily Mail, the singer’s transit sighting coincided with when she was on the reality TV show’s finale, supposedly singing Chained To The Rhythm and Swish Swish, live.
Photos published on the website show the 32-year-old, who was in Oz for a whirlwind trip, clad in comfy clothes ready for her long-haul trip.
At the same time, Katy’s “live” set was being broadcast on our screens.
Indeed, it’s no secret TV shows pre-record segments and it appears with Katy’s hectic schedule, Channel 9 had to do this.
Sources speaking to The Daily Mail claim the popstar filmed her songs with the finalists Judah Kelly, Fasika Ayallew, Hoseah Partsch and Lucy Sugerman at around 5:15pm on Sunday afternoon.
Channel 9 have yet to comment.
Online, fans were quick to point out the gaffe.
“The Voice claims she was performing live when she was at the airport at the time,” one user wrote.
“Someone on twitter posted pictures of her exact performance before she even did it “live”. Is it really live?” Another questioned.
While one viewer added: “@voiceAustralia care to comment on the story that wasn’t live as you said it was.”
Meanwhile Delta Goodrem‘s singer Judah Kelly was confirmed as this year’s winner in an emotional finale.
The 20-year-old Queenslander, who will release his winner’s single called Count On Me, couldn’t quite believe it.
“I’m pretty psyched! I can’t believe I actually made it this far. Thank you. It’s all I can say,” he said.
“You’re on your way. Go be the artist you were born to be, Judah. Thank you so much for supporting Judah, everybody,” a proud Delta added.
