Despite all the fighting on this season of House Rules, one team has remained friendly with all the others: WA twins Andrew and Jono.

Jono says he’s stayed in touch with everyone since filming ended, and recently spoke to Nicole, one of the feisty Victorian besties.

He says although the duo have copped a fair bit of criticism since the show began airing, Nicole seems to be handling it okay.

“She said that she gets a few fans coming up to her asking for photos,” he reports. “It’s not all negative.”

Jono says the girls started off badly in House Rules, because they gave such low scores and negative comments.

“But by the end of the competition we got along with them fine.”

Andrew still believes the bonus room the twins did in Fiona’s house deserved a pass. He thinks the girls probably wish they’d judged it differently.

“It probably set the tone for Fiona and Nicole straight up, so I reckon if they had their time again they’d probably pass it and they’d probably be more on everyone’s good sides.”

Meanwhile, Andrew reveals that he and Jono got along well with NSW battlers Troy and Bec during filming.

“In between builds, we went to an Egyptian museum with them,” he remembers. “And when we were in Tassie, before the reno started, we had a bit of time and we went to Port Arthur and had a look around with them.”

Jono says they stayed friendly with the couple even when the other teams fell out with them.

“We had to do dinners with one group and then dinners with Troy and Bec the other night,” he explains.

He says the couple are a bit different when they’re not under the stress of renovating.

“It would look like they don’t get along well on TV but off camera they get along fine with each other.”
