Home And Away recap: Tragedy in Summer Bay

It was a sad week for a lot of Summer Bay residents.

Roo (Georgie Parker) faced her hardest hurdle yet, Irene (Lynne McGranger) and Leah’s (Ada Nicodemou) friendship was on rockier ground than ever and John’s (Shane Withington) efforts to win back Marilyn (Emily Symons) kept backfiring.

Roo’s heartbreak

It was a very tough week for Roo.

Fans will remember that the father or Roo’s baby, James (Tim Ross) took off after learning she was pregnant.

This week, his wealthy father David (Noel Hodda) offered Roo a $250,000 cheque. The catch was, if she took the money, she and the baby could never try to contact James.

Later, Roo met up with David and refused to take the money and was feeling pleased with herself as she drove home. But she had to stop suddenly after experiencing severe abdominal pain.

Nate (Kyle Pryor) and Tori (Penny McNamee) found Roo collapsed by the side of the road and got her to hospital. But sadly it was too late. When Roo woke up, Alf (Ray Meagher) had to break it to his daughter that she had lost her baby.

Tori (Penny McNamee) and Nate (Kyle Pryor) were first on the scene to help Roo (Georgie Parker).

Irene and Leah’s feud escalates

Previously, Irene and Leah have clashed over Leah’s crumbling marriage with Zac (Charlie Clausen) and the custody of baby Luc.

But this week – just as the old friends seemed to be getting back on track – Leah overheard Irene dishing out details of Leah’s marital problems to Roo.

It was the last straw. Sick of fighting with everyone she loves; Leah decided to sell her share of the diner.

But then Irene dropped an even bigger bombshell… she’s going to leave Summer Bay!

Please don’t do it Irene! Make up with Leah instead!

Will Irene (Lynne McGranger) and Leah (Ada Nicodemou) make amends?

John’s passion project

John tried his best to win Marilyn back this week. He started by trying to organise a black-tie ball for the “community” because he knows Marilyn likes getting dressed up.

It was even starting to work – until he confessed he was doing it for her.

“I liked it because I thought you were trying to help people,” a frustrated Marilyn told John after his confession.

Later, Marilyn confronted him again, claiming that he was avoiding her. (Poor John can’t seem to catch a break!) But John said he was just giving her the space she wanted.

He then admits that he will always be there for her, until she says they are over, he is going to be waiting. Aw!

We just want Marilyn (Emily Symons) and John (Shane Withington) to love each other again!
