Penny McNamee shares touching tribute to Home And Away co-star Orpheus Pledger after he’s killed off

Home and Away fans were left reeling after the 2019 season finale, when Mason Morgan, played by Orpheus Pledger, was shot dead by thugs from the Ouroboros gang during a terrifying hospital siege.

Since joining the iconic soap in 2016, Orpehus, 26, has gained quite the devoted fan base and the actor has shared a sweet tribute on social media to mark the end of his time in Summer Bay.

Orpheus Pledger’s character Mason was killed in the 2019 season finale.

In a sweet selfie of himself and co-star Penny McNamee who plays his on-screen sister Tori Morgan, Orpheus tagged his co-stars including James Stewart, Olivia Deeble and Jackson Heywood and thanked his fans and the Home and Away team for the last three years.

“Thanks to @homeandaway for an amazing few years, it has been some of the best! Love to the cast/crew, & especially all the fans! 🙏❤️ #byemason @channel7,” he captioned the post.

And it’s safe to say that he will be missed, with many sharing messages of goodbye and good luck to the actor.

Co-star Penny McNamee commented on the post: “Orphy!!! What am I going to do without you?!?! I love you, I miss you. My little brother forever and ever. Xxx Penny”

Meanwhile Olivia Deeble, who plays Mason’s half-sister Raffy Morrison simply penned, “Proud a you xx”

Penny went on to share her own Instagram tribute in honour of her on-screen little bro, posting five photos and a heartfelt message for “Orphy.”

“My little brother from another mother! Man, will I miss seeing your face every day! We have been on such a wild ride together these past 4 years, and you have kept me laughing the whole time!

Some fun facts about our @orpheus.pledger…,” Penny wrote.

Fans of the show flocked to Twitter to share their dismay at Orpheus’s departure, particularly the devoted watchers in the UK who hadn’t even seen the episode.

“Oh my god, they’re literally tearing my favourite family apart in #HomeandAway, I’ve just read who DIES in the Season Finale, which we won’t get in the #UK until Feb/Mar 2020. I love the Morgan family sooo much. I will miss Mason sooo much. Very best of luck @orpheus_pledger 😢💔,” one wrote on Twitter.

Speaking to TV WEEK about his dramatic departure, Orpheus revealed that it was a “joint decision” for his to leave the show.

“It was between the production moving forward and setting storylines, and me planning what’s going on [with my career]. I signed on for three years and I extended for eight months – I’m just grateful for that! That’s a blessing just in that,” he explained.

“It was a creative decision because it benefits the show the most at this time. And it gave me a bit of time to prepare for a lot of things as well, so there was no stress. I mean it was just so good.”
