Hearts were broken, romances flourished and lives were lost in the heart-stopping season finale of Home And Away.
While rumours of her departure have been swirling for months, the tragic death of policewoman Kat Chapman (Pia Miller) and her unborn baby was nonetheless a pivotal and emotional moment in last night’s episode. How will her demise impact Summer Bay?
Elsewhere, Olivia (Raechelle Banno) rejected Hunter’s (Scott Lee) proposal and Maggie (Kestie Morassi) collapsed! Suffice to say, our minds are racing with what’s in store in 2018.
So H&A fans, grab yourself a cuppa and settle in as we digest last night’s biggest moments.
FAREWELL KAT
We’re not crying, you’re crying.
… Ok, we’re sobbing and the feels are at an all-time high.
Kat’s tragic death has not only left a huge hole in our hearts, but with endless questions regarding her partner Robbo (Jake Ryan). Will he go on the run or return to jail?
After fleeing Summer Bay together, Robbo and Kat were headed for a happy ever after. But on the road, Kat failed to give way and they wound up in a deadly car accident.
And the driver of the other car was played by none other than Sam Frost. Albeit brief, the H&A newcomer certainly made a dramatic entrance! However, while unconscious in the hospital, Tori (Penny McNamee) revealed that her name is Jasmine. And, the plot thickens.
Meanwhile, Kat is in a bad way. However, she tells Robbo to leave the crime scene and they would meet later. So he did, and Robbo is now left wondering whether his love will be OK.
In heartbreaking scenes, Ash (George Mason) learns Kat and his baby died due to life-threatening injuries. He vowed to get revenge on Robbo – but just how far will he go?
In the promo for 2018, Ash and Robbo appear to have a fiery confrontation and Tori is concerned for her boyfriend’s state of mind. Will his grief tear them apart? And will he do something he regrets?
OLIVIA’S BETRAYAL
After rejecting Hunter’s proposal, Olivia could be the most hated person in Summer Bay when the new season begins.
To make matters worse, the fashion designer withheld the truth about cheating on Hunter and simply told him that “He’s not The One”. She then wound up back at Axel’s (Matthew Pearce) apartment. Oh dear!
Will Olivia leave Summer Bay with her new love? And will Hunter’s heartbreak see him reform to his bad boy ways? Either way, things are bound to go from bad to worse for this former golden couple.
SAVE MAGGIE
Perhaps one of the most surprising events of last night’s episode came about when Maggie revealed she wasn’t feeling well and collapsed on the beach!
No one knows where she went and if she doesn’t get help soon, we could see another favourite meet their death.
ROMANCE BLOOMS
Thankfully, it wasn’t all doom and gloom in last night’s episode.
Brody (Jackson Heywood) finally reunited with his love, Ziggy (Sophie Dillman), after she called it quits with her ex-boyfriend Jarrod (Joel Davies). But he doesn’t seem the type to let go easily (or at all!) so he may cause some trouble for the happy couple.
Meanwhile, young love bloomed for Coco (Anna Cocquerel) and Ryder (Lukas Radovich) at the launch of Salt. And, Justin (James Stewart) inched closer to a date with Willow (Sarah Roberts). Should they be together or will she only lead him on?
