If there’s one reality TV show that the masses all want to be a part of, it’s Gogglebox – because why be on a reality TV when you can talk about it instead.
On Sunday, Aussie production company Endemol Shine released a casting call asking for “witty and warm people who who love everything about TV and want to share their views with Australia” to apply.
Back in March, the team were looking for Brisbane-based families, however, after a failed recruitment drive, they are opening it up to households in Sydney, Brisbane, the Gold Coast or Melbourne.
In September, Foxtel boss Brian Walsh said: “We are continuing to audition for Gogglebox,” he told TV Tonight in September.
“We were in Queensland [for the first time] looking for new cast but didn’t quite find the right ingredients.”

During her stint on brekkie radio with Fifi, Fev and Byron, former Goggleboxer Yvie Jones lifted the lid on a few behind the scenes secrets from the hit show, including how not to be cast.
“We got on from a friend,” Yvie admitted, while adding: “the young boys were overheard having a laugh in a beer garden, Lee and Keith were heard having an argument in a food court.
“They have a lot of people around watching. But apparently it’s hard to cast now and the reason it’s so hard is because everyone keeps trying to be what they think the show is looking for.
“You have to just be yourselves.”

When it comes to payment, Yvie revealed that you don’t get a “talent fee” because “you’re not employed”.
“The house gets a location fee and that has to be whoever owns the house gets a fee,” she said.
“Our landlord would get the fee and she would have to forward it to us if she wanted to. It would be happening in all the rentals. Everyone on Gogglebox is doing it for the love. It’s the same on reality TV shows like MAFS, they get nothing.”
If you wish to apply here, you will need to fill out an application form showcasing where you watch TV, providing pictures and video – so get applying!
You can watch Gogglebox on Foxtel’s Lifestyle on Wednesdays at 7.30pm, and then on Channel 10 on Thursdays at 8.45pm
