It’s impossible to forget the dramatic finale of last year’s The Bachelorette Australia, when Georgia Love declared her feelings for Lee Elliott, but in the process broke Matty Johnson’s heart into a million pieces.
But, despite getting the girl, it turns out that Lee is still more than a little intimidated by the hunky runner-up.
The Melbourne-based plumber opened up exclusively to NW* about his fears that his future kids will think Matty is “really cool.”
And the man’s got a point.
After all, you only need to scroll through Matty’s Instagram to see how amazing he is with his adorbs nephew, George.
But if you ask us we think Lee will make just as great a dad too!
Hi Lee! So you and Georgia have both admitted that you hope kids are definitely in your future. But would you ever let them watch your season of The Bachelorette?
Lee: I’d second-guess ever showing our kids because I don’t want them going, “Oh yeah -great, Mum and Dad! But why didn’t you pick Matty?”
’Cos they’ll be like, “He’s really cool, can we have him as an uncle?” [Laughs]
Well, some viewers really wanted Matty to be Georgia’s pick…
Lee: I think that was my one gripe – that they didn’t show as much of our love story as I would have liked.
It played out more like Matty’s heartbreak story. But at the end of the day, I get to wake up next to Georgia.
Would you two ever get together and hang out with Matty and whoever he ends up picking at the end of The Bacherlorette?
Lee: I don’t think we would be organising a double date, but I think if we ran into each other, there would be no…
Georgia: Oh, there’s certainly no hard feelings there. Um, but yeah, I don’t know.
Lee: I think it’s perceived to be more weird and difficult than it actually is.
He’s really happy for me and I’m genuinely happy for him to have found someone as well.
