A new teaser for Game of Thrones penultimate season was released on Tuesday, sending fans in to meltdown as it appears to tease the deaths of many major characters.
The new trailer titled ‘Aftermath’ shows an abandoned, snow-covered Winterfell in ruins, with bodies lying all around.
Well-known items belonging to some of your favourite characters are strewn about the grounds, covered in snow.
Fans can see Bran Stark’s broken wheelchair, Arya Stark’s sword, Jaime Lannister’s golden hand, Daenerys’ chain, Tyrion Lannister’s Hand of the Queen pin, and Jon Snow’s sword.
There’s also a dragonglass arrow, the feather Robert Baratheon put on Lyanna Stark’s tomb and an eerie glimpse of the Night King.
The new trailer could simply be hinting that no one is safe now that winter is here… rather than suggesting literally every great character will die… though it’s certainly peaked our interest!
Of course, viewers have been speculating who will die when Game of Thrones returns for it’s eighth season, with Cersei Lannister, Brienne of Tarth and Jaime Lannister among the main suspects.
We’ll know the answer soon enough, when the final season premieres on Sunday, April 15.
In the meantime, fans can read exclusive interviews with the show’s biggest stars and find out all the season eight secrets in the new TV WEEK Close Up Game of Thrones Collector’s Edition, on sale Thursday.
Game of Thrones premieres April 15, 11am, on Foxtel.
