Game of Thrones star Peter Dinklage has survived seven seasons of a show that ruthlessly kills of its main characters with ease, but could this final season see the death of his beloved character Tyrion Lannister?

In a recent interview with Vulture, Peter reveals he is happy with the “conclusion” for his character. Some fans have taken his comment to mean Tyrion will die.

When asked how he felt about the end of the show, Peter told the publication, “I feel very, very — I’m trying to find the right word. I think he was given a very good conclusion. No matter what that is — death can be a great way out.”

Will Tyrion die, or is Peter simply leaving his answer open to interpretation to throw us off from guessing the ending? Only time will tell.

Peter, 49, also reveals that his final day of filming was somewhat “anticlimactic,” but at the same time “beautiful.”

“Nothing is shot chronologically, so you don’t get some big mountaintop scene or anything,” he says.

“But as anticlimactic as it was, my last day was also beautifully bittersweet. A lot of people whom I love were on set that day. Even if they weren’t working, they came to set, which was beautiful.

“I know Game of Thrones is just a TV show, la-di-da, but it was our life.”

The final season of Game of Thrones is due to air in 2019, with speculation rife over what will happen, and, of course, which characters will make it to the end of the brutal series.

One thing is for sure, however, with several of the show’s biggest stars revealing fans will be ‘shocked’ by what happens.

“”People will scream and people will say, ‘That’s exactly what I wanted,'” says Emilia Clarke (Daenerys Targaryen). “And some people will go, ‘Huh?'”

Meanwhile, Kit Harington (Jon Snow) has claimed not all fans will be happy with the ending.

“I think a TV series that spanned eight, nine years is an incredibly difficult thing to end,” he says. “I think not everyone’s gonna be happy and you can’t please everyone.”

Kit Harington and Emilia Clarke hint Game of Thrones will leave fans divided.

Game of Thrones seasons one to seven are currently available to watch on Foxtel.
