Network Seven have today announced that filming is underway on the second season of The Secret Daughter.
Jessica Mauboy is set to reprise her role as Billie Carter, the part-time country pub singer whose life was changed forever after a chance meeting with wealthy city hotelier Jack Norton (Colin Friels).
Season two is set to be a journey of self-discovery for Billie, who has turned her back on the Nortons and a record deal.
Jessica received her first ever TV WEEK Logie Award nomination for Best Actress for her role as Billie in season one of the series.
While Jessica Marais took home the gong for Best Actress on the night, Jessica Mauboy performed a stunning medley of hits at the event.
Other cast members set to return for season two of The Secret Daughter include, Matt Levett (A Place To Call Home, Devil’s Playground), David Field (Catching Milat, No Activity), Rachel Gordon (Winter, The Moodys), Bonnie Sveen (Home and Away), Jared Turner (The Shannara Chronicles, The Almighty Johnsons), Jordan Hare (EMO the Musical), Terry Serio (Janet King) and J.R. Reyne (Neighbours).
James Sweeny (Molly, Neighbours) and Rachael Maza (Radiance) will also be joining the cast for season two.
Bonnie Sveen, who plays Billie’s friend Layla on The Secret Daughter, has been busy with a new project on her own.
The former Home And Away star recently took to Instagram to share the news about her short film RILEY.
“Later last year I wrote a story. I started up a production company to make that story. This week, Worker Bee Films debuted in the making of RILEY, a short film,” Bonnie wrote.
Congratulations Bonnie! Sounds very exciting indeed!
