Ever wondered what it’s like when the Royals get together for family night?
According to British food critic and Family Food Fight judge Tom Parker Bowles, it’s always a royally good time.
Tom is often travelling for work, but when he isn’t, he loves catching up with his mother, Camilla, Duchess Of Cornwall, and stepfather Prince Charles at Clarence House − their official residence in London.
And it’s even better when his step-brothers, Prince William and Prince Harry, pop around for a bite to eat too.
“I can’t speak for eating with the Queen, because I don’t,” Tom, 42, explains. “But Harry and William are lovely boys. It’s always nice to see them.”
The family dines on fresh, healthy produce – something both Tom and Prince Charles are passionate about.
“He’s hugely knowledgeable about farming,” Tom says of the future King of England. “We could talk about food for hours. He’s passionate about getting the best produce.
He’s a great hero to me.”
Tom credits his mother and his father, Andrew, for his love of food.
“We ate seasonal food before people thought about eating seasonally,” he says.
Tom says family dinners are a hoot, but don’t happen as often as he’d like.
“William and Catherine have a family and are doing their [royal] duties,” he says.
As for Harry, who’s said to be planning his engagement to Suits star Meghan Markle, Tom says the prince also has a demanding work calendar.
“We don’t live together in a big commune,” he laughs.
