Ever since Downton Abbey finished in 2015, the rumour mill has been in overdrive about a movie being in works.

Whilst several of the cast members have said they would love to be a part of a movie, no official word has been released by the powers that be.

Earlier this year, creator Julian Fellows raised our hopes when he revealed that a Downton Abbey movie script had been written and the cast had seen it all.

But since then it has been radio silence.

To make matters worse, Joanne Froggatt, who played the lovely Anna Bates, has now revealed that she has “no information” about a possible Downton movie.

“Selfishly, it would be great to get together for ten weeks and have a little reunion,” Joanne told Variety.

“But in all honesty, I have no idea. I absolutely have no idea. There’s been talk, there’s been conversations, but nothing has happened.

“We’re all sort of leaving it up to the gods. We have no information.”

Michelle Dockery, who played Lady Mary on the series, is also hopeful for a Downton reunion.

“I miss the show and my friends on the show,” she told E!.

As far as conformation on whether the film was going ahead Michelle admitted, “I don’t know when, but I’m hopeful.”

While we cling to the hope that a movie does come to fruition, Joanne is confident that the whole cast would be keen to come back together, but if it doesn’t happen, Joanne is also happy with how things ended.

“I think we’d all like to do it,” Joanne said. “For me, the show finished in a great place and a great time. We finished on a high.

“Everything must come to an end, all good things must come to an end. I was very happy with where we left it.”

Fingers crossed that the Crawley family are back on our screens soon!
