Jarrod Woodgate prides himself on being upfront and honest when it comes to wooing The Bachelorette Australia star Sophie Monk.
But sources close to the vineyard manager say they’ve spent the past few weeks scratching their heads.
During the first episode of the show, he revealed he was once engaged – but we’re told those in his inner circle have no idea who the mystery woman is!
Jarrod, 31, claims he got down on bended knee in 2010 – raising the question, has he simply stretched the truth so as to have one more thing in common with Soph, who’s been engaged twice?
This wouldn’t be the first time he’s brought up their similarities.
Over the course of the series, we’ve seen him present her with a pair of ugg boots – one of her favourite things – and excitedly reveal that, like Sophie, he was “bad at school”.

Conveniently, Jarrod tells us he’s no longer in touch with his ex-fiancee, who he says now lives in Cairns.
“We’ve gone our separate ways. Our hearts were in a different place,” he says.
Following hometown visits last week, stakes are even higher for the former army man after he professed his love for the singer/actress.
“This is a hard thing to say and it’s hard to put my emotions forward and on the line and at the situations we’re in,” Jarrod explained.
Jarrod tells us he’s no longer in touch with his ex-fianceé.
Before declaring: “But the feelings that I have for you and that have grown for you as who you are. [I] have come to a conclusion where I’ve actually fallen in love with you.”
“Hopefully at some point you can find this in your heart and see us as a future or, you know, have a future at least.”
