Our golden girl has done it again! The first look at Delta Goodrem as Olivia Newton-John already had us hooked on Olivia: Hopelessly Devoted To You.

And now, the full trailer for the Channel Seven miniseries is only fuelling our obsession.

Transforming into Grease’s Sandy once again (alongside George Xanthis as John Travolta), 33-year-old Delta is entirely captivating as she hits the first few notes of the titular ballad.

Delta shared this sneak peek earlier this year.

The trailer doesn’t shy away from the realities of Olivia’s life, either. It takes a darker turn as it reimagines the shocking revelation that her partner Patrick McDermott may have faked his death.

From bringing to life the birth of Olivia’s daughter Chloe to that iconic fluoro get-up in the video clip for ’80s hit “Physical”, Delta really delivers the goods as Australia’s original golden girl.

Olivia marks the singer’s return to the small screen in an acting role after her short stint in Channel Nine’s House Husbands last year. And she seems just as excited about the gig as we are!

Delta reveals the opportunity to play her idol is “one of the highlights of my life”.

“Olivia influenced my earliest years as an evolving artist and became the backbone of influence to living my life and heart as a proud Australian artist,” Delta says.

“I aspired to have her grace, humility and talent from the time I started singing.

“She is an icon. I am deeply humbled to play my idol and friend.”

Starring alongside Delta are Gyton Grantly as Olivia’s manager, Roger Davies, Home And Away’s Todd Lasance as Xanadu producer Lee Kramer and Wentworth’s Kate Jenkinson as Pat Carroll, the second half of singing duo ‘Pat and Olivia’.

The official airdate is yet to be announced, but we do know Olivia will air after the Commonwealth Games.
