“It’s very different to Married At First Sight,” Cheryl tells TV WEEK. “It’s live and I can be myself, there’s no editing.

“I have an insight about the weddings and the couples. I’m very relatable so the audience will understand from my perspective what it feels like to be in those situations.”

While Cheryl didn’t find love on Married At First Sight with either Jonathan Troughton and Andrew ‘Jonesy’ Jones, her appearance on the series did lead to romance.

Her boyfriend Dean Gibbs got in touch with Cheryl when she appeared on the show. Once the series ended they caught up and it wasn’t long before the pair went from acquaintances to lovers.

“During filming I just couldn’t see me finding love at all from the show but now I look back I’m so glad I went on that show because I found the love of my life.”

And if any of the women on this season of Married At First Sight don’t find love on the series, Cheryl urges them to be cautious.

“I don’t think you should just go out there and go on the dates,” Cheryl explains. “I think people know you from the show and want to be with you because you’re on the show. Don’t just rush into things.”

[Talking Married] launches Thursday February 1 at 9pm and continues weekly on 9Life.
