The Project host Carrie Bickmore has commemorated her son’s 10th birthday with a touching tribute. She shared a throwback snap to Instagram of herself and son Oliver Lange in hospital, the day he was born in 2007.
The TV presenter captioned: “This here is one exhausted, overwhelmed, scared mama, in shock over what her body just went through and unaware of the terrifying health issues that lay ahead for her in the coming weeks.”
“What this tired mama didn’t realise was just how awesome life would be with this little old man in it.”
The health issues she’s referring to is her postpartum haemorrhage.
Bickmore lost her husband of five years Greg Lange when little Ollie was just three years old, after a long struggle with brain cancer.
“Ollie we have been on a big journey together honey, but raising you has been the easy bit,” her caption continued. “I never take for granted how lucky I am to have been given the chance to watch you grow up… You are the kindest, happiest, funniest, and most resilient young man.
“Your dad would be so proud of you who are.”
“Here’s to many more years of life together beautiful boy,” she signed off. “Happy 10th birthday. Don’t ever stop snuggling next to me (well maybe one day-but not yet!).”
The 36-year-old has another child, two-year-old daughter Evie, who is shared with partner Chris Walker.
Last year, Bickmore launched charity Beanies 4 Brain Cancer in honour of her late husband to raise money and awareness for brain disease.
