There were plenty of reasons to celebrate at the 60th TV WEEK Logie Awards. But for Carrie Bickmore and her partner Chris Walker, the joyous time began weeks ago at home.
The co-host of The Project and Most Popular Presenter nominee recently announced she was expecting her third child. She showcased her baby bump on the red carpet with Chris and her mum, Jennie.
“The first time I ever came to the Logies, I was pregnant with Ollie, so it’s incredibly special,” Carrie, 37, smiled. “But because I’m older now, it’s harder!”
Chris insisted they’d be “just fine” raising a newborn alongside Carrie’s son Ollie, 10, and their daughter, Evie, three.
“We haven’t really thought about that,” the TV producer said. “When Evie arrived, I’d just started The Weekly [With Charlie Pickering], and Carrie is just busy all the time. But we’ll be OK.”
If in doubt, however, Carrie’s mum is always on hand to help.
“She’s a huge support,” Carrie said. “She was the babysitter the year I won Gold [in 2015] and Evie was six weeks old.”
Jennie added: “She was supposed to come up to the room for a feed at 11pm, but then she won the Gold Logie and I thought, ‘That won’t happen.’ I was crying with happiness and trying to feed the baby.”
But Carrie has doubts about adding more to her brood.
“I can’t see myself as a mum-of-four!” she laughed. “Let’s see how this one goes first.”
Carrie first announced her pregnancy on Instagram, sharing a sweet home video of herself, Chris and Ollie breaking the news to little Evie.
“Hey some exciting news to share with you. We are having a BABY,” she captioned her Instagram post.
“How funny is Evie asking if it’s twins. No honey it’s not twins!!!!!!”
Congratulations to the happy family!
