Fed up with the lack of privacy in the Astoni house, Brody reaches a boiling point and storms out. Could this spell trouble for him and Ziggy?
The young couple tied the knot in a bit of a rush. And while marriage isn’t always easy, Brody (Jackson Heywood) and Ziggy (Sophie Dillman) have endured a lot in the short time they’ve been together.
“I think they’re both experiencing the teething problems of marriage,” Jackson, 30, tells TV WEEK.
With his attempts to spend time alone with Ziggy constantly thwarted, he’s finally pushed over the edge.
“The wedding was so quick, it’s put a bit of stress on him,” Jackson explains. “When he moves into the Astoni house, it almost feels like a backwards step”.
“You get your restaurant, you get your girlfriend and then she becomes your wife. You get married…and then you move in with her parents.”
So when a planned romantic movie marathon becomes a family affair, Brody simply snaps and leaves.
Is this marriage already on the rocks?
Tension with Brody is the last thing Ziggy needs, with the couple enduring a rollercoaster of emotions since she first popped the question.
Their engagement wasn’t off to the most conventional start, with Ziggy’s decision to propose bought on by her mother Maggie’s illness.
With their wedding preparations underway and their special day drawing ever closer, Ziggy couldn’t help but reflect and wonder if rushing into marriage was a big mistake?
When asked about whether their decision to get married was a rushed one, Jackson believes it was a very sudden move.
“He was hesitant for sure, because Maggie was sick. He wants to make sure she’s doing it for the right reasons. I think he’s hoping that’s behind them and that they’ve resolved it.”
“Hopefully they’ll have what it takes to muscle through it and keep going.”
