Will he or won’t he? Blake Garvey finally addresses Bachelor in Paradise speculation

Is the nation's most controversial Bachelor making a return to our screens?

As we rejoice over the exciting news we’re getting our very own Bachelor in Paradise series next year, the question on everyone’s lips is just which famous faces will be making a comeback?

And perhaps the biggest question mark remains over our 2014 Bachelor Blake Garvey, who was responsible for the most disastrous season in the Aussie franchise after he proposed to Sam Frost, smoke-bombed on her arse and then ran off with the show’s second runner-up Louise Pillidge.

So, will we be seeing these charming antics once again for Bachelor in Paradise 2018?

On Monday, the real estate agent took to Facebook to set the record straight for once and for all.

“No way, no how, no chance am I going on Bachelors in Paradise. That is all,” the Perth local penned in a bluntly-worded Facebook post.

So far, no names have been revealed for the upcoming cast but a well-placed insider assures us the likes of Blake, Keira Maguire, Nikki Gogan, Sasha Mielczarek, Elora Murger, Michael Turnbull, Jake Ellis and Jen Hawke have been approached.

Considering Blake appeared on the 2015 series of Celebrity Apprentice, he could indeed just be playing coy to keep us off the scent.

Or perhaps he’s finally learnt that reality TV isn’t the best route to mend one’s reputation.

Blake and Louise ended their romance last year.

Yesterday Channel 10 finally confirmed what we’d suspected for quite some time – that a BIP Aussie spin-off was indeed in the works.

In a press released on Monday morning, Network Ten said the “special event television series” will air in 2018.

“Set in a romantic tropical destination overseas, Bachelor In Paradise will follow the contestants as they build new relationships, fall in love or face heartbreak, again,” the press release read.

Network Ten Chief Content Officer, Beverley McGarvey, said: “Bachelor In Paradise is the perfect complement to, and extension of, those shows. It will give viewers everything they love about The Bachelor Australia and The Bachelorette Australia, including familiar faces, spectacular dates, explosive rose ceremonies, drama, romance, adventure, laughter and – of course – love.”

The only thing we know for sure is that everyone’s favourite host Osher Günsberg will be back in the hot seat, steering all the drama, romance and rose ceremonies!

“I cannot tell you how excited I am to be working on @bachelorinparadiseau. I promise it will be everything you love and more #survachelor,” Osher penned on Monday.

Meanwhile another name fans keep throwing around is the one and only Laurina Fleure of dirty street pie fame.

“True god dirty street pie better be back,” one fan penned on social media.

To which Osher replied: “Wouldn’t that be wonderful.”

We couldn’t agree more!
