Our favourite Monterey mums.

Raise your hand if the TV adaption of Aussie author Liane Moriarty’s Big Little Lies has consumed your soul over the past few weeks?

So do we Reese, so do we!

Nicole Kidman described the addictive series perfectly when she said: “I think that’s the brilliance of Liane, she writes these novels and then she threads in these deeply painful and topical and real emotions and relationships that you get pulled into.”

“You think it’s light entertainment, and then before you know it, you’re gasping.”

With the show over fans are praying for a second season.

Reese Witherspoon is gunning for it and confessed during a Facebook Live, “We’ve been talking with the writer, and you guys should Facebook Liane Moriarty and tell her how much you want to see Big Little Lies 2.”

But before we pop bottles like it’s trivia night, the show’s genius director Jean-Marc Vallee has shut down season two rumours.

“To do a season two, I’m not for it. Big Little Lies Two? Nah. We won’t give you a season two because it’s so good like this. Why spoil it?” He recently told The Hollywood Reporter.

We need a wine…

The prospect of living in a world without Tom’s coffee, Jane’s rage running, Madeline’s constant chatter, Celeste’s breathtaking fragility and Perry’s… well Perry’s everything… it is all just too much to bear.

To soften the blow, please dust off your best Audrey Hepburn and Elvis outfits (too soon?) as we cordially invite you relieve some of the biggest scandals from cast of Big Little Lies.

Reese Witherspoon as Madeline Martha Mackenzie

Hey y’all, who hasn’t been arrested before?

Reese shone as the queen of sass Madeline Mackenize. And in real life, the Southern belle delivers one-line zingers even better than her on-screen persona.

For the most part, the 41-year-old is peachy sweet but that doesn’t mean Reese hasn’t been involved in her fair share of drama.

In April 2013, Reese was arrested for arguing with police while her hubby Jim Toth was arrested with a DUI.

According to the police report the actress became “increasingly agitated” during Jim’s sobriety test and “began to hang out the window and say that she did not believe that I was a real police officer.”

The report claims Jim tried to calm Reese down, before she stepped out of the car and asked the officer, “Do you know my name?”

“I answered, ‘No, I don’t need to know your name.’ I then added, ‘right now.’ Mrs. Witherspoon stated, ‘You’re about to find out who I am,'” the policeman alleged.

Reese and Jim’s mugshots.

Reese spoke out about the incident during an interview with ABC News.

“It was just one of those nights – we went out to dinner and had one too many glasses of wine,” she said.

“We thought we were OK to drive but we definitely were not. We are just so sorry this happened. We know better than that. It’s something that will absolutely never happen again.”

“I had no idea what I was thinking that night. I saw him arrest my husband and I just panicked. I said all kinds of crazy things to the officer. I even told him I was pregnant. I am not pregnant!

She later confessed, “I think it was a moment where people realised that I wasn’t exactly what they thought I was.”

“It’s part of human nature. I made a mistake. We all make mistakes. The best you can do is say sorry and learn from it and move on.”

Reese owned up to the incident and apologised.

Wine seems to be a factor in another of Reese’s shining moments.

Cheers!

In 2014, model Cara Delevingne shared a now deleted Instagram video of the actress showing off her southern sass.

“I don’t know what your f–––in’ name is,” the blonde star quipped in the NSFW video, which was filmed at the Met Gala. “That’s super-French… c’est la vie.”

Reese continued, “If you force me to say your last name, I’ll be f–––ed.”

The duo were in an elevator with Zooey Deschanel, Kate Upton, and Tennessee Thomas. The video ends with Reese sharing some valuable advice.

“The most important thing in a name, for a girl,” she says to the camera, “is that a man can whisper it in his pillow.”

Nicole Kidman as Celeste Wright

Cool, calm, collected… Bring on the Fallon factor.

Nicole Kidman channels Celeste with such ease and poise that you forget that you’re watching Our Nic.

“It’s probably one of the hardest roles. When I walked away from [the character], I remember thinking that was the deepest I’ve gone in terms of finding and losing things,” the 49-year-old explained.

Unlike her co-producer Reese, Nic doesn’t have any crazy secrets the world doesn’t already know about. Whether it was her highly-publicised divorce from Tom Cruise or being blacklisted by Scientology, the mother-of-four has always handled her pretty wild ride with grace.

But one man left her unhinged…

One of the greatest moments… EVER.

Enter, Mr Jimmy Fallon.

The Aussie hilariously recalled her crush on the comedian while she was a guest on his talk show… Twice!

“I just remember I liked you,” Nicole said during the first Tonight Show appearance.

“Wait … what?” A surprised Jimmy said in response, adding, “Did I date Nicole Kidman?!”

Speaking to ET, Keith Urban’s wife admitted, “People texted me [afterwards]. People have given me such s–t.”

Nic really liked Jimmy… And for once the talk show host had nothing to say.

Clearly Nic is doing just fine with the rejection.

In 2016 with husband Keith by her side, she returned to the show, shedding more light on her unrequited love.

The actress was promoting Lion, when she recalled how Jimmy failed to hit on her for a second time.

The pair were at a party at director David Fincher’s house.

“It was when Brad [Pitt] and Jen [Aniston] were still together, so it was a long time ago, and you could have asked for my number then… and you still didn’t ask for it!”

“We were lurking in the kitchen after everyone went out and I’m like waiting and waiting and waiting,” Nic told Jimmy.

“This is so true and you know it!”

Hero Keith casually goes salt bae on Jimmy.

Speaking of her former flames, can we take a moment for the starlet’s Lenny Kravitz days?!

Earlier this year Nicole officially confirmed that they were once engaged.

Nic chatted to Net-A-Porter about how she and co-star Zoë Kravitz already share a lengthy history.

“Well, I knew Zoë because I was engaged to her father. It’s all in the family!”

She added: “I love Lenny; he’s a great guy.”

No bad blood here! Nic and Lenny met when she rented his Manhattan apartment in the summer of 2003.

Shailene Woodley as Jane Chapman

There’s no faults in this star’s eyes.

Portraying such a timid character is a far cry from Shailene Woodley’s personality.

The actress is a proud feminist and eco-warrior.

In fact, she’s so passionate about her views and beliefs that last October, she protested against a Dakota Access Pipeline being erected and was arrested and charged with criminal trespassing and engaging in a riot.

The misdemeanor charges carried a maximum one month in jail and a $1,500 fine.

A week after the arrest, Shailene wrote an open letter for the Times, to share her view on the incident.

“I was arrested on Oct. 10, on Indigenous Peoples’ Day, a holiday where America is meant to celebrate the indigenous people of North America.”

“I was in North Dakota, standing in solidarity, side-by-side with a group of over 200 water protectors, people who are fighting the Dakota Access Pipeline.”

Five months on, CBS News report that Shailene has now reached a plea deal.

The actress, who originally pleaded not guilty, will avoid jail time after after agreeing she is guilty of misdemeanour disorderly conduct. It is reported that she’ll serve one year of unsupervised probation and forfeit a $500 bond.

Shailene is very vocal about her beliefs.

Nicole spoke of her co-star with awe, telling Elle, “She’s politically engaged, which is surprising for someone her age and in her career.”

“She’s good at keeping her boundaries and standing up for herself. If she doesn’t believe in something, she says so. I could probably have learned from that at her age.”

“I don’t think I stood up for myself in the same way she does.”

“Reese and I have both said it: It’s a whole different world now. When we were growing up, we were far more protected, but we weren’t as empowered. We weren’t connected through knowledge, which is what social media gives you,” she added.

She’s genuinely badass.

Laura Dern as Renata Klein

We love how fierce Laura is.

Many have a pretty understanding on the whole Jennifer Aniston, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie debacle.

You MUST choose a side.

There really isn’t a rock big enough for you to have missed one of Hollywood’s biggest cheating scandals… But it turns out this is not Angie’s first-time offence.

Before Angie and Billy Bob rocked blood vials, leather pants and tinted shades, Billy Bob was actually a taken man.

We’re sure Laura could chat to someone about said offence…

The actress was completely in love with Billy.

During the late’ 90s, Billy Bob and Laura Dern were engaged, shared a dog and had big plans for the future.

But after working with and falling for Angie on the 1999 film Pushing Tin (sounds familiar, right?), Billy ended their two-year romance without a moment’s thought.

“I left our home to work on a movie, and while I was away, my boyfriend got married, and I’ve never heard from him again,” Laura told ABC News.

“It’s like a sudden death. For no one has there been any closure or clarity.”

But how do you compete blood vials and tatted love tributes?

If that doesn’t break your heart, singer Melissa Etheridge’s recollection of the split will hammer in that final nail.

“I was around when Angelina was not doing nice things with Billy Bob to Laura Dern. I went through that on a personal level,” the singer claimed on Watch What Happens Live.

“I helped Laura move out of her house with Billy Bob — I, like, broke into their home to get their stuff out because it was so nasty.”

We’re guessing Laura tapped into some inner rage when playing Renata.

Alexander Skarsgård as Perry Wright, Celeste’s husband

A Swede and a roo, what’s not to love?

Swedish god Alexander Skarsgård is perfect.

He literally has no dirty laundry…

Despite the cruel and tortured character he played on Big Little Lies, real-life Alexander is an actual dreamboat.

We want to hate you…

Just to remind you of his sheer perfection, the 40-year-old described his ending on the show as “brilliant.”

But guys, the man is an onion because he has SO MANY LAYERS.

He once mused, “I know I have to be careful because there is something destructive within me, I think, and I can have a tendency to just search for the kicks. I can’t really get too close to someone who’s too destructive, or too dark, because then I might go down the rabbit hole myself.”

Sigh, his model girlfriend Alexa Chung is one lucky lady.
