And you thought Bethenny Frankel’s battles on The Real Housewives of New York City could get feisty! Bethenny, 47, teamed up with her close pal Fredrik Eklund, 40, for their new show Bethenny and Fredrik – in which they flip luxury houses. But Bethenny’s heated fights with Fredrik almost ruined their friendship!
“This show is Will & Grace with real estate as a backdrop,” Bethenny says. “I created, pitched and sold this show, but Fredrik and I were very aware that our dynamic would be great television.”
Here, the Skinnygirl mogul tells OK! why the battles on her new show are her fiercest yet!

Were you worried working together would change your friendship?
Our relationship was business first. [Fredrik helped Bethenny sell her Tribeca apartment.] We got to know each other after. We clash. We had a very dramatic blow-out that rivals any Housewives‘ argument. I didn’t think we would survive it.
Did you ever consider leaving the show?
I don’t quit in business – but I wanted to quit Fredrik.
How long have you been friends?
I have known him five years. He is fun and sensitive, and also an absolute clown. He is very devoted to his husband [Derek] and family. He’s also a klutz. He’s always starving and needs to pee… like a pregnant woman.
How many properties do you own now?
I own more than four properties in Manhattan and the Hamptons. I will continue buying and flipping – I just can’t help myself.
