Sophie Monk is set to have her Cinderella moment during this year's brand new season of The Bachelorette.

Australia’s third Bachelorette Sophie Monk has burst the bubble on her high-profile relationships with some of Hollywood’s hottest men, including Sam Worthington, Jason Statham, Kevin Connolly, Ryan Seacrest and Good Charlotte rocker Benji Madden – suggesting her past romances mightn’t have been entirely legit.

“In LA you are surrounded by people that do what you do, and it’s a town filled with people that are trying to get where they need to get. You date people that tick boxes for your brand and it’s all about the wrong things,” tells the 37-year-old, who lived in LA for a decade after relocating there in 2005 to pursue an acting career.

The candid star adds that since falling in love “badly” on the show, it’s opened her eyes to her previous relationships.

“I reckon before the show, [I’d been in love with] no-one,” she confesses. Ouch!

Sophie feels as if being on the show has brought her past relationships into perspective, helping her realise that she’s actually never been in love before.

Needless to say, Sophie isn’t in contact with any of her former flames.

“I don’t talk to any exes,” she tells. “I don’t think it’s fair on either [of us].”

The one-time Bardot pop songstress isn’t entirely turned-off superstars, however, and is fine to call them friends – especially if they’re Coldplay’s main man and suggesting they head out for tattoos.

“I got this one [tattoo] with Chris Martin – he doesn’t know it, but we’ve got matching tattoos. He went first and then I went [to the artist], ‘What he’s getting, I’ll get that,’” she laughs of the heart-shaped ink on her wrist.

“My mum has sat me down twice asking if I was a lesbian. She was like, ‘If you are, it’s OK.’ And I was like, ‘Mum, I love how open you are and this is just f—ing awesome, but I’m not gay. I want to be, I would be big in Hollywood if I was, but I’m just not a lesbian.’ She just wants me to settle down,” she laughs.
