We’re in the full throngs of Bachelor fever right now, guys. After last night’s finale of The Bachelor Australia (where Matty Johnson declared his love for Laura Byrne), we’ll be waiting just six days for another round of The Bachelorette, starring Sophie Monk.

Bachelor in Paradise in the US just wrapped up airing the latest series, but there’s one more Bachelor-related series in the pipeline – and it will be featuring some of our own Aussie contestants.

Yep, the next entry to the mix is Bachelor: Winter Games, to coincide with, you guessed it, the Winter Olympics.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, long-time US Bachie host Chris Harrison is set to host the new show (it should totally be Osher Gunsberg, by the way), and it will bring together contestants from previous years of the US version AND international versions.

The series, which will air in February 2018 will include athletic challenges and “the toughest sport of all: love”. There’ll be no gold medals, but hopefully the possibility of love is far more enticing.

Chris told THR: “It’s going to be very different. It’s going to be fun. I’m very excited.

“We’re still working out the creative aspects of the whole thing, and I’ll be producing on it as well. But I know what’s in store, just the broad strokes.”

“It will have some of the Bachelor Pad DNA, in that there is going to be a competition element,” added ABC reality chief Rob Mills. “And the other thing we’re excited about is having contestants form the international formats of The Bachelor.

“So, you have somebody from Bachelor Japan, Bachelor Australia, Bachelor Canada and Bachelor UK. We’re really excited to see if we can have some international romances as well as the competition in U.S. versus the world.”

So, who would we want to see take on this globe-spanning love challenge? Here are our picks:

Tara Pavlovic (Matty J’s season)

She was the fan favourite of this series of The Bachelor for her bubbly, loud nature. As long as there are sausages on a BBQ post-challenge, we’re sure Tara would be signing up for this.

Keira Maguire (Richie Strahan’s season)

Keira Maguire

We’re pretty sure Keira would never actually volunteer to do anything sport-related given her aversion to anything other than yoga (remember the group date where they had to dress up in sumo suits?). But if she did, we’re sure it’d be ridiculously entertaining to watch.

Jen Hawke (Matty J’s season)

Jen Hawke

Jen was a firecracker on the show, from the moment she walked into the mansion to the moment she stormed out. Throwing her in the mix with Keira would incredible – two villains up against each other, calling each other’s outfits ‘putrid’. D-R-A-M-A.

Sasha Mielczarek (Sam Frost’s season)

He’s the Aussie larrikin who won Sam Frost’s heart, but sadly the two didn’t work out. This could be Sash’s second shot at love! Plus, there would be plenty of laughs as the other international contestants try and understand his Aussie slang.
